AIG is back!

If you recall, AIG has an 80-year history in Singapore. But during global financial crisis, the company nearly collapsed. To dis-associate with the “bad” name, AIG has been re-branded as Chartis insurance in Jan 2010.

Four years after the financial crisis, AIG has completed a remarkable turnaround. As part of a global re-brand unveiled in December last year in New York, Chartis is reverting back to the AIG brand.

The new AIG signboard was already installed on top of the 78 Shenton Way building.

This reminds me of Ken Fisher’s famous book “Markets Never Forget, But People Do“. As he said,

“Forgetting pain is an instinct — humans have evolved that way to better cope with the problems of survival.”
